There are books I want to read, mean to read, have meant to read by this point in my life…but other books get/got in the way, or they haven’t been published yet, or I’ve checked it out then returned it without cracking the the thing open. This is that list of books. I promise I will get to you.
War and Peace by Tolstoy (I devoured Anna Karenina back in college, and own this title, but just haven’t picked it up. Maybe next snow storm…)
All of Cory Doctorow‘s books. His books are smart, forward-thinking conspiracies. I love them!
Stitches by David Small. I heard him speak at ALA Annual Conference in 2010 or 2011, and was even given a free copy of his book! I desperately want to read this memoir! Have I picked it up? Nope…
Babylon’s Ark: the incredible wartime rescue of the Baghdad Zoo by Lawrence Anthony. My sister served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and has been telling me to read this since it was published in 2008. It rode around in my trunk for about 6 months. Didn’t even read the intro. I swear, I will! Someday.
A book by Neil Gaiman. I’ve read The Graveyard Book which was superb! I tried American Gods but just couldn’t finish it. I am so disappointed in myself! Someday I will pick up another of his novels, read it, and love it.
I also update my Amazon wish list with books I’m interested in reading. Check it out! (And buy me one!)
